Firstly, I want to pass on our thoughts to all the people of Australia and New Zealand, their families and their communities during this pandemic as there is no doubt we are living through difficult times. This latest COVID-19 outbreak is continuing to have significant impacts on the health and welfare of individuals, businesses, industry, and the economy.
As many of our valued customers know, New Age Caravans manufacturing is proudly located in Epping, Victoria where we are currently in our 6th lockdown due to the health regulations announced by the Victorian Government. During this and previous lockdowns, we have been able to continue to operate within our COVID-19 Safe Plan. This Plan follows all the guidelines set by the Victorian health authorities and is aimed at ensuring our staff, customers and dealers are kept as safe as possible. It enables us to maintain a safe workplace through measures that include social distancing, and heightened cleaning and sanitation guidelines. In implementing our Safe Plan, we have had to adjust how we manufacture our caravans, unfortunately resulting in a reduction in the number of vans we are able to produce per week.
Adding to these manufacturing challenges is the increase in demand from our existing and new customers wishing to explore the great outdoors. We're so thrilled by the confidence and trust people have shown in our caravans through placing their orders. We are also tackling the challenge of delays in production caused by the previous five lockdowns, further compounded by ongoing supply chain challenges. These supply issues are not limited to components and appliances but extend all the way through to the raw materials used to make these products. Our industry is not unique in having to face these supply chain challenges in recent times; nearly every industry has experienced significant difficulty sourcing materials and components. While demand-driven supply chain challenges impact our production, we will continue to work with our incredible supply partners to manage any future disruptions as best we can.
